Structural and MicroFat Grafting Treatments

Our providers are experts in structural micro fat grafting and are standing by to talk with you about what the procedure entails.

What if there was a way to remove fat from the parts of your body where it’s not wanted, and use it to provide volume for the parts of your body where it is wanted? That’s essentially what structural micro fat grafting is all about. Some cosmetic surgeons have christened this the ultimate “green” procedure,  and it’s not hard to see why: Nothing is wasted as fatty tissue is transferred from your buttock or thigh to your cheeks, lips, hands, or under your eyes, helping you to fill out those areas that have become “hollow,” without the use of short-term dermal fillers.

What Does the Procedure Entail?

As with everything we do at The Stem Cell Center, structural micro fat grafting begins with a consultation. We invite you to sit down with one of our providers and to speak confidentially about your goals. We’ll then present you with some customized solutions, tailored to address the objectives you’ve laid out.

Fat is harvested from your body through a liposuction treatment; this is done while the patient is numbed with local anesthesia, and usually takes less than an hour’s time. The fat is then purified in the centrifuge, where unwanted oils can be removed. After this, the purified fat is carefully injected into the placement area. The provider creates a three-dimensional “grid,” or structure, just below the skin, which helps ensure that the desired result is achieved and that the results are long-lasting.

The end result is beautiful contouring and smooth, supple skin, with postoperative soreness that lasts just a day or two. Some patients may experience some swelling or bruising for up to three weeks, but your provider will be able to offer you some simple solutions to keep these side effects minimal.

Are You a Candidate for Structural Micro Fat Grafting?

We recommend this procedure to patients who meet any of the following criteria:

  • You have noticed that parts of your face have become creased or “sunken” and you would like to restore some volume; some specific areas to consider are under your eyes, your cheeks, and your lips. .
  • The aging process has left your hands hollow, with more prominent veins or tendons.
  • You’ve used fillers and found them to be helpful, but wish you could find something a bit more long-lasting.
  • you’re seeking to minimize the appearance of scars or otherwise rejuvenate your skin.
