Scars from past injuries, burns, or surgical procedures can be most unwelcome visually or restrictive physically, but that doesn’t mean they are untreatable. Scar Reduction with Nanofat, PRP, and SoftWave® Therapy

Stem cells occur throughout your body and can divide into a variety of different cell types. You might think of them as your body’s internal repair agents. Stem cells can stimulate or replace other cells that have become damaged in order to heal and restore normal tissue.
Stem cells are harvested through minimally invasive liposuction of fat using local anesthesia. The fat containing a high concentration of stem cells is then liquified into nanofat and injected back into problematic scarred areas to help your body heal.
The entire procedure usually takes less than an hour’s time, and post-surgical pain is minimal.
If PRP is used, it is obtained by drawing a small amount of blood from a vein in your arm, just like minor blood work done in a lab. The blood is then spun in a centrifuge, and the red and white blood cells are separated from the platelets and plasma, resulting in a concentrated amount of platelet rich plasma (PRP). This substance, naturally derived from your own body, contains a host of growth factors that promote wound healing to help reduce the scar and regenerate more normal tissue.

Shockwaves therapy (SWT) are painless shockwaves that are applied to wounds and scars to stimulate healing and reduce scarring. The local stem cells are stimulated to reproduce, migrate, and release healing factors. This causes an increase in blood vessel formation, tissue remodeling, and nerve regeneration. Wound healing, even in diabetics and patients with vascular disease, has been shown to miraculously occur.  It has also been used to treat hypertrophic scars and keloids. We use a state-of-the-art MTS Spark Wave™ shockwave system.

SWT can be done alone or in conjunction with other stem cell therapies.

It is all done right here in our center and usually takes less than an hour’s time with very little post-surgical discomfort.
